Recover & Renewal
The longer you suffer with MMS the more damage that will
be inflicted to the other parts of the body. If caught
early enough, the effect may correct itself.
However, it is possible irreversible damage has
occurred.
You must first "fix" the foundation, then proceed from
there. It may take from months to years--if ever--to
reverse the ill effects of the syndrome. The sooner
treatment is initiated, the faster the renewal proceeds.

Adolescent Girls. Curr Opin Pediatr, Aug 2001; 13(4):5)
The problem actually starts
in childhood, when you first start walking. You continue
to walk, run, play and be active on the misaligned
foot/ankle/knee/thigh and hip construct.
If you have a smart pediatrician,
an examination of the lower extremity would show the
abnormality. Alternately, a podiatrist which specializes
in pediatrics may do this examination and notice the
problem. If the problem originates in the hip, femur or
tibia, a Brown Bar shoe construct or other method--such
as cast correction--may derotate the torsion in the
bone. If the problem is due to an excessively pronated
foot, correction of this condition would stabilize and
neutralize the problem at a very young age, instead of
letting it progress to adulthood and possible
destructive arthritis.
Seeing this within family
members is not unusual, as there is a strong hereditary
component to the foot type leading to Miserable
Malalignment Syndrome. The aftermath of the excessively
flat foot includes hammertoes, bunions, generalized foot
and ankle pain, knee problems (including chondromalacia
patella) and back pain. |
